yRead će učitati obični tekst (TXT) ili HTML datoteka i prikazati u jednom stupcu-, resizable prozor. Potom će se pročitati datoteku da vam se glasno, koristeći ljudski govor. Možete čak dobiti glasove za druge jezike. Koristite ga za slušanje ebooks, vlastiti pisani ili neki drugi dio teksta. yRead sada uključuje katalog zaslon za online Gutenberg arhive - to će preuzimati najnovije katalog, pokazati sortirani popis svih naslova i omogućuju vam da odaberete, preuzeti i slušati na bilo koju od njih. yRead uključuje prijevod tablicu (vidi help file). To vam omogućuje da izgrade niz fonetskih provjeru pravopisa, tako da mis-izgovara riječi će izaći ispravno. To je prilično glupa string zamijeniti, tako da ako zamijenite 'e' sa 'x' ćete da havx livx s consxquxncxs. Slobodni softver od autora serije Hala Spacejock.
